Three in five Pinterest users live in regions that bring in 7% of its revenue
Pinterest's 394 million users outside the U.S., Canada and Europe brought in $87 million of its $1,174 million third-quarter revenue, its figures show.

Pinterest reported a record 661 million monthly active users for the third quarter of 2026, 61 million more than a year earlier, the company said on October 29, 2026. Most of those users, and most of the growth, are in the places where Pinterest earns least. Its 394 million users outside the U.S., Canada and Europe, about three in five of the total, brought in $87 million of the quarter's $1,174 million in revenue, or 7% (our calculation).
Users and revenue by region
| Region | Monthly active users | Share of users | Revenue | Share of revenue | ARPU |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| U.S. and Canada | 107 | 16% | 894 | 76% | $8.38 |
| Europe | 161 | 24% | 193 | 16% | $1.21 |
| Rest of world | 394 | 60% | 87 | 7% | $0.23 |
| Global | 661 | 100% | 1,174 | 100% | $1.80 |
Pinterest reports average revenue per user, or ARPU, according to where its users are located. In the quarter, a user in the U.S. or Canada brought in $8.38, about 36 times the 23 cents from a user in what Pinterest calls the rest of the world and about seven times the $1.21 from a European user (our calculation). The U.S. and Canada, with 16% of users, produced 76% of revenue.
Two years of growth
| Region | Users 2024 | Users 2025 | Users 2026 | ARPU 2024 | ARPU 2025 | ARPU 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| U.S. and Canada | 99 | 103 | 107 | $7.31 | $7.64 | $8.38 |
| Europe | 139 | 150 | 161 | $1.00 | $1.31 | $1.21 |
| Rest of world | 300 | 347 | 394 | $0.14 | $0.21 | $0.23 |
| Global | 537 | 600 | 661 | $1.70 | $1.78 | $1.80 |
Since the third quarter of 2024, Pinterest has added 124 million monthly users. Of those, 94 million were in the rest of the world, 22 million in Europe and 8 million in the U.S. and Canada (our calculation). Revenue from the rest of the world has more than doubled over the two years, from $42 million to $87 million, but global ARPU has barely moved: it rose 1% in the latest year, to $1.80, largely because the fastest-growing group of users brings in the least per head.
Revenue per user in the rest of the world has risen faster than in the U.S. and Canada, from 14 cents to 23 cents over the two years, against $7.31 to $8.38. In cash terms, though, the rise was 9 cents a user, compared with $1.07 in the U.S. and Canada (our calculation).
Europe stalled this year. Revenue from European users was unchanged at $193 million, after growing 41% a year earlier, and revenue per European user fell 7% to $1.21 while the number of users there rose 7%. In the U.S. and Canada, users grew 4% and revenue per user 10%.
Not only Pinterest
Pinterest is not the only platform with such a gap, though its size varies. Reddit, which divides revenue by daily rather than monthly users, reported $13.82 per U.S. user and $2.43 per user in the rest of the world for the same quarter, a ratio of about 5.7 to one (our calculation). Reddit's quarterly filing says U.S. ARPU is higher mainly because of the size and maturity of the U.S. digital advertising market. Because the two companies count users differently, and Reddit's rest of the world also includes Canada and Europe, their figures are not directly comparable.
Profit and outlook
Pinterest's total revenue rose 12% from a year earlier. Net income fell 77% to $22 million, while adjusted EBITDA, which excludes items including depreciation, share-based compensation and taxes, rose 11% to $339 million. For the fourth quarter, Pinterest expects revenue of $1,425 million to $1,475 million, growth of 8% to 12%.
